Dr Pratap Rughani will give a paper Praxis through the hand, mind, heart and eye in the Creative Art / Anthropology Praxis as Revelation and Resistance panel at the conference held at the Clore Centre of the British Museum and SOAS 1 – 3 June 2018.
The conference is presented by the Royal Anthropological Institute, the Department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas of the British Museum and the Department of Anthropology at SOAS.

Flow & Flux:
While doctoral research traditionally aims to define, understand and advance a body of knowledge, there are moments when the individual researcher is floating in a constantly changing tide of understanding, caught up in an ebb and flow of unfixed definitions. Through debate, discussion and exhibition the 2018 TECHNE Congress, hosted by the University of the Arts London, will explore the concepts of flow and flux, not only in their wider application to ideas of knowledge but also in terms of their specific relevance to understanding research processes and methodologies.
The TECHNE consortium comprises seven universities in London and the South-East and has approximately 50 AHRC scholarships to award each year across a range of arts and humanities disciplines. Applications are made through the relevant university.
VE2017 is hosted in collaboration with the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF), Revista Cine Documental and the Argentine Association of Cinema and Audiovisual Studies (AsAECA). The conference will take place at the Centro Cultural Borges (Borges Cultural Center) above the traditional Galerías Pacífico and at the Margarita Xirgu theater in the historical neighborhood of San Telmo.

Pratap Rughani delivered a workshop Justine Interactive: the Dance of Documentary Ethics at Bath Spa University Media Convergence Research Centre at the Journal of Media Practice and MeCCSA Practice Network Annual Symposium, which explored the theme of ‘Practice and/as Media Industry Research’.
Fastnet Film Festival, County Cork, Ireland. Pratap Rughani delivered a Masterclass The Dance of Documentary Ethics. The workshop was filmed for new pedagogic output Justine Interactive & Documentary Ethics.
Pratap Rughani delivered a screening and debate event on Internationality & Diversity for the University of the Arts London‘s Erasmus event 2017.
Pratap Rughani took part in the National Organising Committee 10 – 11 April at Aston University at the National Teaching Fellows’ Symposium.
